What is Grounding?

Grounding is a soothing technique used to keep individuals in the present moment and help to reduce any stress levels. Grounding, which is also known as earthing, involves a process of connecting your human body to the electric charge of the Earth and releasing any negative charges in your body.

The idea of grounding is to allow your body to touch the ground through direct contact as a way to receive the natural energy of free electrons from mother nature. In simple terms, you can do this through physical contact by walking around barefoot on the grass, laying on the grass or even direct skin contact by moving your hands through the Earth's dirt.

A study in 2019  involved sixteen massage therapists to determine whether grounding on massage therapists created a positive impact and was able to reduce stress. The study found that the therapists who were practicing grounding had an increase in physical energy, reduction in mood changes and decrease in mental stress too.
